Holistic speaker, Indianapolis
Thomacine Haywood offers a unique interactive approach to speaking about holistic topics like reflexology, aromatherapy, energy work and more. A seasoned speaker and teacher you will look good when you hire her for your next event. Call 317-403-5051 for information

What Is Holistic?

Webster's Dictionary defines holistic as  "pertaining to or using therapies outside the mainstream or orthodox medicine."
Holistic services are some of the fastest growing therapies in today's health care marketplace with the industry growing in direct relationship to the soaring costs of medical care.

Unlike some of her holistic health counterparts who endorse using holistic therapies instead of traditional medical care, Thomacine encourages students and workshop participants to use holistic health disciplines like reflexology or Reiki energy work in a collaborative manner with regular visits to their doctor. Holistic disciplines should NEVER be used to replace traditional medical care.

Her classes and workshops are hugely popular because each centers on interactive demonstrations that give participants real skills to take home and use for sensible, workable holistic interventions that support true healing.

Hire Thomacine for your next conference, workshop or retreat and be confident your participant will be both delighted and challenged with her unique "shoes off, hands on" approach to reflexology or other interactive topics like hot stone massage, aromatherapy or energy work.
You will look good to your boss and the crew and attendees will take something home with them that can help alleviate pain, reduce stress and help them cope with the rigors of life in the new millennium. Call 317-403-5051 for information.

Holistic health topics are relevant for many workshop, retreat or training settings. In fact, a Reuters study of June, 1999 showed that holistic therapies are used by 40 percent of Americans and that number continues to grow.
According to the Consumer Literature on Alternative Medicine which quotes a New York Times article of 1996, a $50 billion holistic health medicine industry continues to grow with more than half of the top 250 pharmaceutical companies conducting research on developing plant-based products.

The Reuters study respondents reported seeking relief from various ailments including chronic pain, anxiety, chronic fatigue syndrome, sprains, muscle strains, addictions, arthritis, joint pain and headaches.

Restore Inc. makes no claims that its services in any way replace traditional medical treatment, it likewise makes no claim to diagnose, prescribe or treat any specific condition or illness. Therapists work to promote relaxation/stress relief to thereby encourage your body to heal and cleanse itself. Clients are encouraged to seek professional medical diagnosis for persistent medical problems and to use its services in combination with traditional medical treatment when deemed appropriate by personal decision and/or that of your physician.

WHEN ARE HOLISTIC TOPICS APPROPRIATE?

When planning an event at which you are considering holistic topics, Thomacine recommends you ask yourself several key questions to help match the right speaker to the right audience.

   1. Who will be attending the meeting and what is the general familiarity of most audience participants to the subject?

For example, if you are having someone come in to speak to a group of chemists about homeopathic remedies, the speaker who is comfortable addressing chemical compositions would be more appropriate than one who wants to speak only on benefits and personal experiences.

   2. What is the tone of the session and where will this speaker be on the program?

For example, it's not a good idea to schedule someone to talk and demonstrate how peppermint essential oil increases worker productivity, boosts mental faculties and dispels fatigue at the end of a two-hour intensive computer training session. That same speaker would be more appropriate before the training.

3.Is this speaker's style compatible with this group and the physical environment of the meeting?

For example, a holistic speaker who has everyone participate in tai chi as a demonstration on energy movement is not ideal for an auditorium setting.

Just give some thought to who is attending, where the speaker is on the program, the meeting space and the tone of the meeting.
Spend some time interviewing your speaker and asking them what you can do to support them. If your speaker is an experienced professional, they will ask you questions about your audience.
