Thomacine Haywood Reflexology classes are an optimal blend of on-line lectures and instructor supervised practical experience of techniques and hands on skills. Many reflexology schools feature mostly on-line curriculum with little if any supervised hands on experience. E-Classes and Lectures Available for Some Classes

Indianapolis classes meet in a hotel conference room environment with convenient availability of on-site breakfast buffet available and room discounts for attendees. Suburban locations feature availability of kitchenette and refrigeration for student snacks. Low lodging rates are also available amply in this location.

Students must satisfactorily complete all levels to earn certification.
 
The class standards are established by the American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB) the national certification board for reflexology. Students may enroll in individual courses without enrolling in the certification program.

Students can enroll in one or more courses depending on their personal availability. They may finish all levels at their own speed. No deadlines exist on when completion of levels is required to earn certification. Students may decide at any time whether they wish to complete all levels or just one. Significant discounts are given for students who enroll for all courses required for certification.

PRELIMINARY STUDIES

On line learning-20 hours
Pre-requisite for all other levels.

Website based lectures on Foot Pathologies, Orientation, History/Theory, Safe Sessions, Ethics of Touch, Anatomy of Lower Leg and Foot. Includes: Download able Manual, Technique Video and Online Lecture Series.
Purpose: Preps students dynamically for a deeper understanding of terms, techniques and theories to more fully utilize Level 1 in-classroom instructional experience.
Requires independent study of lectures and completion of essays or end of unit questions, reading manual units and study of technique video and corresponding practice sessions. MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE ADVANCING TO LEVEL 1. May be scheduled at any time following enrollment. For questions about enrollment, call 317-403-5051.

LEVEL 1
Practical Reflexology

Classroom learning-16 hours
Pre-requisite for all other levels.
Cost: $350 plus $45 manual/chart

   This course is perfect for the individual who may not intend to pursue reflexology professionally. It is a great primer of basic techniques suitable for self-care or for friends and family. It is a pre-requisite for all other levels of the professional training program.
    It features ample instructor-supervised hands-on experience of basic techniques and a simple sequencing pattern appropriate for professionals and others. Other course components include ethical use, scope of practice, safe sessions, expanded focus of technique skills, anatomy of the lower leg and foot to increase palpation skills and familiarity with the leg and foot as a structure.
   Theory, history, industry standards, benefits, contraindications, documentation protocols and instructor supervised practice in orientation, holding, sequencing and relaxation methods and American standards for zone, thumb and finger walking techniques. Learn the difference therapeutic reflexology can make for a variety of health conditions routinely encountered in a typical practice. Great stand-alone class for those wishing to learn basic professional reflexology. Required for certification.

LEVEL 2
Intro to Professional Reflexology
Classroom learning-16 hours
Pre-requisite for all other levels.

Expanded anatomy and physiology, pathology and importance of referral to relevant health care providers, instructor supervised clinics, practical application of reflexology for specific health conditions, anatomy of body systems, interconnectedness of body systems, anatomy of the body reflected on the foot, pinpoint accuracy of reflex locations, how to use reflexology to deepen therapeutic responses for clients.

LEVEL 3
Intermediate Professional Reflexology
Classroom learning-26 hours (10 online learning, 16 classroom)
Pre-requisite for all other levels.

   Builds on anatomy, physiology skills learned in previous levels by deepening understanding of the way the body's systems and organs/glands/parts work together to engender wellness. Specific technique protocols for specific conditions, intermediate techniques, foot reflexology skills mastery and review, business organization, marketing/promotions through digital and personal marketing strategies. Expands clinical hands-on experiential atmosphere to expose participants to diverse client base and to expand foot reflexology mastery to a deeper level of confidence and practical application strategies.
   Explores each students individual temperament and skills to determine if they are best suited to working for an employer or starting their own personal practice.

   Auricular, hand and ear reflexology techniques/practices; advanced ethics for professionals, hot stone and aromatherapy applications for the reflexology practice, advanced reflexology documentation protocols, applications and standards, foot reflexology technique skills assessment with written and hands on technique assessment and mentoring opportunities.

Professional Reflexology Skills Mastery
Instructor Supervised Independent Study-90 hours
Pre-Req for Certificate in Professional Reflexology of 200 hours
Cost $250
   Industry specific business plan 20 hours; Outcall Marketing/Promotion 10 hours; Advanced Anatomy Theory/Practical Application of Body System Orientation 12 hours; Mastery Techniques/Documentation Standards Protocols 48 hours.
   Implementing and assessing national industry documentation standards established by the ARCB through documentation of 48 individual sessions using specific protocols and anatomical references. Students will learn the value of documentation standards in the successful reflexology practice.  Sessions completed throughout previous three courses are included in totals for assessment. Instructor will offer advisement one-on-one and through group. Required for certification.
